acne

all content borrowed from book the caring keeping of you: the body book for girls

acne attack

now i don't want to hear "oh my face is perfect i don't get zits" cause that's just bull. nobody is perfect so just get over yourself every girl gets acne. acne can appear for several reasons. during puberty your body makes more oil which combines with bacteria and dead skin cells to clog your pores. almost every girl or boy at school will have to battle skin blemishes at one time or another.

striking back

keep your face clean

wash your face daily with mild soap or cleanser but don't over do it. harsh scrubbing can irritate already bothered skin.

check out the drug store

acne products can provide some relief for mild breakouts. I personally LOVE epiduo i call it the magic cream it works great.

self image

the world puts a high value on outward appearances. God is focused on the hearts of his people. the world has a lot of expectations on how we should dress, look, and act. most of the time these expectations don't line up with God's word. I want you guys to comment some negative words to describe some one who doesn't meet their physical expectations. then comment some positive words people use to describe some one who does meet their physical expectations. all of us are God's creation. he created us to be unique and in his image. as your body matures into adolescence you will see changes that affect how you look at yourself. but remember no matter what the world says God says your beautiful inside and out.

eyes

all content borrowed from The Caring Keeping Of You: The Body Book For Girls

Be on the lookout

Many girls don't notice problems with their eyesight until they have to do a lot of reading or look at the board in school. Well you may need glasses if you have:

  • headaches while or after you've been reading
  • trouble seeing objects at a distance or up close
  • double vision not caused by crossing you eyes

your not alone

your vision may continue to change during the time your in grade school and level of when you get to your teens. if your the first one with glasses you may feel like the loneliest in the world. but peek around your class room in a couple of years you'll find you have lots of company.

the steps to being a godly wife

Hey guys I know this is kinda jumping ahead in womanhood, but its good to get it in your mind now. Now I was in church tonight and this is a good sermon but some of us don't like sitting through a sermon so I'm not going to make it a sermon. One of things about being a godly wife is: the ability to see your husbands need through his point of view. That means that your not always going to see life the same way but instead of trying to understand his needs your way try to understand them his way, an it's going to take some team work but your marriage will work better that way. Another thing is: accepting responsibility for making the quality of home life acceptable for your husband. Which means if your not doing a very good job on keeping your house acceptable for your husband your kids or you then you need to take full responsibility. Now your husband can't expect it to be perfect all the time and your going to have your bad times but that doesn't you can't try your best and work hard. Next: cleanliness is next to godliness. Now husbands and wives have different standards and your gonna want different things but if you don't keep a clean house your always going to be running around and then your going to be tired and your both going to be on each other like cats and dogs. It messes up the fellowship between you two. Next thing: see that food is prepared and served. Now this doesn't mean you have to be the one cooking you just have to make sure that it gets prepared and served. Alright ladies i know this is not exactly what you want to hear but management falls to the lady of the house. Next: manage time so everyone is on time. Alright so your the base of time here if you don't make lunches on time then your kids or your husband will be late for school or work, and if there late everyone is rushing and yelling and you all just wanna kill each other and that is not a very stable home. work to make sure everything goes smoothly. lastly: appreciate but don't demand your husbands help. This means that like if your husband offers to help but don't demand that he does. It is your soul job that God has given you learn to love it. embrace Gods calling and love him enough to do it.

Dating

Alright I'm just gonna come flat out and say it DO NOT DATE. Dating can lead to really bad things so what I suggest is to court. Courting is when you never go out on a date alone when your go out on a date you go with friends, friends who will keep you in line. Because if you go on a date alone you could get into trouble because there is no one there to stop you and tell you no. Let me tell you something when you go out with a boy and you think you in love and you get comfortable that's when the boy will say "if you love me you'll have sex with me" and if you really think your in "love" you'll do it so you won't lose him. Now I'm noting saying all guys will do that but some guys will they'll take advantage of you. No mm no that is not going to happen and here's why it's not going to happen because if he really loves you he will not say that and if he does say that then you look him dead in the eye and say NO you will not take advantage of me not today be strong.

i don't know what to do?

hey you guys sorry i haven't blogged in a while i was at camp. I've been thinking what if your away at something like camp and they start talking about boys or "girl problems"and you want escape but you can't.
something similar happened to me at camp this week. well my solution is if you can leave the room but if you can't ask them politely to stop. if they don't stop ask a grown up around to tell them to stop. if there is no grown up around then cover your ears or do something else to distract yourself because first of all they don't need to be thinking about it second of all you don't need to be listening to that kind of stuff. the only place you need to hear this kind of stuff is if they are teaching you at church, from your mom or dad, or from purity conference or something like that. say no to listening to bad things.

ears

content borrowed from The Caring Keeping Of You: the body book for girls by Valorie lee schaefer

ears are easy to care for. they just need a little help from you to stay clean and healthy- so every sound you hear will be crystal clear

squeaky clean

your ears get washed every time you shampoo and shower. in most cases that's all the cleaning they'll need. NEVER stick a pointy object into your ear- not even a cotton swab. you could do serious damage to your eardrums and canals.

pierced ears

if you want to get your ears pierced go to a professional who uses clean sterile equipment. allow two three months for your ears to heal before changing earrings. clean your newly pierced ears daily with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. redness, itching, or oozing maybe a sign of infection. if so call a doctor for advice.

heads up!

content borrowed from The Caring Keeping Of You The Body Book For Girls by Valorie Lee Schaefer

let's take it from the top, with tips for handling your hair, sound advice on ears, and bright tips for bright eyes. learn how a healthy mouth makes a great grin. brush up on tooth gum and braces basics. finally, get the scoop on the skin your in so you can put your best face forward!

hair care

start your everyday grooming routine right at the top with clean, shiny, freshly combed hair. as you get older your hair will get more oily. keep it clean by washing it regularly. for most girls this means several times a week. if your a swimmer wash your hair after every dip. chlorine can be very drying, and it can turn blonde hair green.

hair scare!

when hair raised horrors happen to you here is how to handle them. have you somehow managed to get gum in your hair uh-oh! well don't reach for the scissors instead try this age old trick. spread a glob of peanut butter on the gum, work it through until the gum comes out, then wash out the peanut butter with shampoo.

greasy hair

during puberty, your oil glands get more active. for some girls this means greasy hair.if the roots of your hair look oily almost everyday, you may have to shampoo more often.

dandruff

does your scalp feel dry and itchy? are your shoulders covered with tiny flakes of skin, making your dark colored shirts look like their sprinkled with snow. you may have a case of dandruff, a very common condition that's easy to treat. try a dandruff shampoo from the drug store. if drugstore shampoo's don't work ask your doctor for something stronger.

eek- a louse

head lice are a common problem among school kids everywhere. these tiny wingless parasites thrive in the thickets of human hair. they bite the scalp leaving tiny sores that itch like crazy. worst of all one louse can lay hundreds of eggs called nits right on your head. if lice are on the loose at your school take action and protect yourself. don't share brushes and combs with your friends. don't swap hats, hairbands, or head phones and don't swap pillows at sleepovers. take caution and see a doctor or a nurse if you think you you have lice.

basics of your body

At this stage in your life your body is going through some major changes. And you might not feel comfortable talking to your parents about it. I hope that you find this information helpful. when your body is about to change then it's time to start taking control of your health and well-being. i am going to introduce you to the basic facts about puberty.

information borrowed from The Care And Keeping Of You: The Body Book For Girls by Valorie lee schaefer

the changes coming up

everybody goes through puberty and its not this icky gross thing it's really something special. for most girls it starts at the ages of 8 and 13, and it ends when your body reaches its life long size, and that's around the ages of 15 to 17. through puberty you'll grow up and out, and not all parts will grow at the same rate. you'll see changes in your skin, hair, breasts, and other parts of your body. you'll also see some emotional changes too. all of these changes are caused by hormones, chemicals your body produces to change you from a girl to a woman. pay attention: learn to tune into your body hear its warnings. if your body says its hungry then eat if your body says its thirsty then drink if your body says its tired then rest. exercise: you don't have to be an Olympic athlete to be healthy. just put down that video game get of the couch and get moving! skate to your friends house or dance to your favorite music. the busier you keep your body the better you'll feel. keep clean: all the hard work your body is doing means you'll have to keep your body clean which means bathing and showering more often especially if your involved in sweaty sports. private: your body is yours and yours alone. you have the right to keep it private from anyone-family, friend, or stranger. if anyone touches you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable tell and adult you trust immediately. you should never keep a secret that is harmful to you or protect anyone who is hurting you.

compare? no fair!

its easy to compare yourself to girls on t.v. or magazines and movies.but hold on! is it fair to measure yourself to made-in-Hollywood images created by make-up artist and photo wizards? no way! you don't need to measure yourself against anyone at all, including friends or other girls at school. you're a -one-of-a-kind-original-and your beautiful in your own unique way.

it isn't a race

a girls body changes to a woman's body gradually not overnight. each girl develops at her own rate. even sisters don'y develop at the same rate. and it's important to remember that growing up isn't a race. there are no prizes for being the first or -or last-girl to lose all her baby teeth or wear a bra. trust that your body to do all the right things a the right time that is good for you.

what is on the inside

the most attractive girl in the room is not the one with the thinnest waist or fairest hair. it's the girl who brims with self confidence. she's the one who stand head and shoulders above the crowd. that girl can be you. it all starts with a positive attitude. to have a positive attitude, try to see yourself as your whole person shinning through your features. focus on whats best about you and refuse to hunt for negatives. don't doubt yourself- be proud of yourself for doing your best.
you are beautiful

boys

Okay boys i don't know where to start. When boys look at a girl who is wearing immodest clothes or is walking "sexy" as some would say all they can think about is sex. This is not all their fault it's mostly ours. As my dad said " If girls knew what boys are thinking they wouldn't be wearing half the stuff they do today". Us girls when we wear our shirts so our boobs show or our shorts some our butts show boys can't help thinking of sex. If we just wear our clothes more modest maybe just maybe we can help boys make the right choice. us girls all we are doing is advertising our bodies and you will ruin your life and i don't want that to happen.
this is what boys every day are doing

Who will be king? Part 3

Even though we disobey god he will not let us keep doing it. Eventually god will shut us out he will eliminate us. As Romans 6:23 says for the wages if sin is death but the gift god Is eternal life in Christ Jesus my lord. You see since the wages if sin is death then really you can't carry on sin forever.  Someday Jesus will come back and make his world perfect again. He will take all the Christians into heaven he will make the world new again.

who will be king? part 2

Even though Gods world was perfect we started saying no to god making us the boss of our life. God is the true king but we ignore that we think that we can make it on our own. Sin causes a lot of problems. By doing what we want to we hurt each other and make a mess of gods perfect world. by doing what we want to and not what God wants us to we  hurt our selves and god too. there are two ways to live Gods way or sins way and i hope you are living Gods way.

Who will be king?

I've always wondered what it would be like to be in charge of my family or of my school. Have you ever wondered that? Or maybe you've wondered what it would be like to be the boss of the whole world the king. Well the bible talks about this about who is the king of everything here's it's answer. This is a process that we will look at in steps here's the first one.

God is the loving king if everything
                                           Because he made everything

God made the world and everything in it. So god is in charge of the world and everything in it. He's the king. God is a perfect king were not. We think that putting on nice things or be the smartest or the strongest makes us perfect. But reality check were not we are so full of sin god can't even look at us. But god is perfect he gave us life he is our king.

staying pure in God: modesty

In life you"ll face challenges that will make you question your relationship with Christ. There are two ways to live your life you can live it in a way that is pure and pleasing to God, or in a way that is displeasing to God. It's not always clear which choice is right but in the end everything will work out exactly the way God wanted  it to, and peer pressure and temptation will make it even harder for you to make the right choice. You want to live your life based on his word. If you do that it will be easier to make the right choice. I want you guys to post some things that will steer you toward the worlds view and some that will steer you toward God's view.
info found from a purity book.

                modesty

Girl's these days are where the worst things. They think to fit in their clothes have to be so tight they choke, or their shirts have to be so low that they look like they're wearing just their bra's. Girls may think this is cute but what they don't realize that they are just advertising their bodies. You know their are many cute clothes that don't show every inch of your body. . here are some things you can use to make wearing these things easier leggings and tank tops. I suggest these stores justice for girls, jcpenny, aeropostale if you have any stores you might add just say so. check out these stores look at their clothes see the difference.

Here's a quote I saw on Facebook and go on YouTube and type in what guys think about modesty by CJ mahaney it just might change your point of view.

"Who's attention do you desire? Who's approval do you crave? Any biblical discussion begins with addressing the heart not te hemline. Immodesty is so much more than wearing a low cut shirt or a short dress. Immodesty is an expression of arrogance. Immodesty reveals the absence of humility. Immodesty is the act of drawing undue attention to yourself."

                                                                     - CJ mahaney

peer pressure

Peer pressure is one of the easiest traps to fall into when it comes to living a pure and/or holy life. Now i'm home schooled so I'm really that experienced, but i have friends and parents. Peer pressure can also come from your parents maybe to grow up faster. Not all peer pressure is bad. Peer pressure that persuades people to do right is considered good peer pressure. You will be exposed to peer pressure in almost every area of your life. As you get older you will feel peer pressure from school and when your with your friends. As adults you will feel peer pressure at work and in your relationships. The peer pressure you experience is affected by the people you surround yourself with in your life. Now my friends are all from church and they make good choices ( I'm not saying your friends are bad). Now we all make bad choices there's no way around that but some of us make better choices than others. (Again i'm not saying your friends make bad choices). You'll hear a lot about peer pressure from some adults who are responsible for influencing you. i was sitting here thinking peer pressure is blamed on a lot of things most of them being underage drinking, sexual activity, and other destructive things if you have any others feel free to put them in my comment section.

30% of teens are offered drugs in high school and middle school

                             3.1 million teenagers smoke cigarettes

almost 50% of kids ages 12-18 feel pressured to have sex in their relationships.

32% of kids try their first drink before the age of 13

Put in my comment box some bad peer pressure that you've experienced or seen your friends experience.
Then put some good peer pressure.

temptation

When you start to enter into womanhood, you'll be tempted to do things the world says are ok.

  • Some temptations:
    • Sex before marriage
    • Other kinds of sexual sin
    • Drugs and alcohol
  • Temptations will come from anywhere and everywhere like:
    • school
    • t.v. and movies
    • social media
    • friends and maybe family
The world says things that tempt us are okay. The world tells us to give in to temptation as long as we do it moderately. The world says that anything that makes us feel good is ok if it doesn't harm anyone else. Temptation will sneak up on you when you least expect it. How strong your relationship with God will determine how you handle temptation. You will miss "the way out" of temptation if you are not focused on your relationship with God. Avoiding temptation is never easy here are some ways you can help resist it.

  1. Spend time in God's word every day.
  2. Spend time in prayer every day, asking God to help you resist temptation and to help you seek his will in all that you do.
  3. Surround yourself with friends who love and follow God, and who make good choices.
  4. Ask and adult you trust to hold you accountable for the things that can trip you up.
As you learn what temptations are hardest for you to resist, do everything you can to avoid the situations where temptation will be the strongest.

info from a book from a purity conference.

Verse of the week

Colossians 3:5

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

I want to help

Point 1. The teen life today is getting more and more corrupt. For instance kids are getting introduced to drugs in sixth grade and even younger! Another thing is dating has gotten out of control. Girls these days are getting meaner and meaner. People are so insecure and so desperate that they get pulled into dumb things that they regret for the rest of their lives.

Point 2. If teens aren't brought up in the right teaching they could get into big trouble.  Trouble that if they had stayed away from that stuff that corrupted their minds they might not be in where they are today. Some kids get tangled up in gangs with cigarettes and drugs. Some kids get tangled up in sexual problems. I hope to help them.

Point 3. When you run your life off the railroad track you can get back on, but it's going to be a long hard journey. It's hard to stop a habit like smoking or drinking, but you can do it with help. I mean you just can't do it on your own.

Point 4. I'm hoping we can work through the motions together. My website helps girls through problems like boys, peer pressure, self-image, temptation and I even answer questions from the comment box. I hope this blog will help people work through their problems, and for some just help prevent them.
